  • Sabarmati Ashram is the place from where Mahatma Gandhi began his famous Dandi March to protest against certain tax regulations of the British. It was also his home for a period of time.
  • Calico Museum of Textiles is supposed to be one of the finest textile museums in the world
  • There are many handicrafts showrooms selling artifacts and garments that are exclusive to Gujarat. The Gujarati ‘cholis’ or blouses with embroidery/mirror-work could be interesting for women travelers
  • Navratri is a nine day festival that is celebrated with much gusto in Ahmedabad and among the people of Gujarat in general. Youngsters especially enjoy wearing the colourful traditional costumes and attending the ‘dandiya’ dances
