kasar Deivi is a beautiful and serene village surrounded by green mountains. It attracts many Israelis, who come to breathe fresh mountain air and experience peace and quiet – “being without doing”. Many travelers are surprised when even on this high mountaintop they discover an active and well-equipped Chabad House. Rabbi Oren and Einat Raz were not deterred by the task of transporting the most basic necessities from great distances to these primitive heights in order to establish a Chabad House there. Today, the Chabad House offers backpackers a kosher meat restaurant, an Internet spot, a kosher food shop that meets the growing demand from observant backpackers, and, of course, rich spiritual activity.
